A water jet nozzle is the part that focuses the water stream on the desired workpiece location. It is the final part of the water delivery system of the machine, known as the focusing tube or the mixing tube. Due to the highly pressurized water, nozzle wear is common in waterjet cutting.

Miller Carbide water jet nozzle is made from nano-tungsten carbide powder that without nano-binder phase. It has excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, polishing and antioxidant properties, that are unparalleled by traditional cemented carbide. Especially in some harsh environments, it not only maintains the wear resistance of ceramics, but also has better toughness than ceramics.

Product Parameters


The grain size of no-binder phase tungsten carbide material is about 100 nanometers. This material has top wear resistance and a Vicker hardness up to 2900, improves the service life of water jet nozzle. And the life span of a tungsten carbide waterjet nozzle lasts up to 100~150 hours based on water pressure.

The diameter of a water jet cutting nozzle is generally three times the nozzle orifice diameter.

The nozzle orifice diameter is kept small enough to keep the kerf width minimum and accuracy at the maximum. However, the value should not be too small because it will reduce the cutting speed and increase nozzle wear.
